There will be a bullying presentation Wednesday, 4/29 at 6 pm. This presentation will be hosted by Special Agent Chad Barefoot from the NC State Bureau of Investigation and Computer Crimes Task Force. All students and parents are welcome.
Mrs. Manor's class learning about energy and researching alternative energy sources (ie. Solar wind, bio, nuclear) The outside activity was showing the population trends over the past 500 years and how we are growing at an exponential rate. Each student represents 250 million people. The idea is to show students how quickly the earth's space and resources are being used up.
Best Buddies Club had a great time making flower pots and gum drop towers for 7th grade team day!

The school with the most number of teachers and staff participating in this season's Girls on the Run Race on Saturday May 16th as runners, walkers, or running buddies will receive a $150 donation from Girls on the Run and STRIDE of Coastal Carolina!

TMS HS Course Criteria
These students represented TMS at the Pender County Special Olympics on Feb. 6 at Cape Fear Middle School. Our team did a great job and everyone came back with a medal!

Members of National Junior Honor Society participated in a campus clean-up Saturday January 10th. TMS thanks you for your great work!
Mr. Wieland, one of our amazing 7th grade math teachers, hosted the Math Hunger Games, an event that encouraged students to challenge themselves and show off their math abilities. The Games started with the math class reaping, participants had to complete difficult math problems each week, and students with the most correct answers moved on to the next week's challenge. The twelve week challenge ended with a team wide ceremony to announce the winner. Thank you, Mr. Wieland, for making math so exciting!!

Mrs. Swiffen's classes participated in the Hour of Code this week, joining millions of people all over the world in learning the basics of computer programming.
Mr. Newton has won the teacher of the week sponsored by FSI! He is now eligible for teacher of the year. He was honored Sunday, 12/14 at the Panthers game in Charlotte. Congratulations for this accomplishment. It is well deserved.
