The Exceptional Children’s Department invites parents of students who have IEPs and receive special education services to the EC Parent Institute, a series of seminars related to raising children with special needs.
- Saturday March 14th
- Cape Fear Middle School (1886 NC Hwy. 133, in Rocky Point)
- Registration begins at 8:30 AM. Sessions: 9:00 - 12:45
- RSVP to Karen Carr at 663-3521.
The Rising 9th grade Parent meeting scheduled for 2/19 at THS has been rescheduled to 2/26 at 6:30pm in the THS Auxiliary Gym.
Volleyball tryouts will begin for 7th graders on Mon March 2nd in the main gym. Tryouts for 8th graders will begin Wed March 4th.
Baseball tryouts will begin Wed March 4th, on the baseball field by the elementary school.
8th grade Marine Biology students doing salinity and pH testing of ocean, waterway, and river water.
TMS HS Course Criteria
These students represented TMS at the Pender County Special Olympics on Feb. 6 at Cape Fear Middle School. Our team did a great job and everyone came back with a medal!

Members of National Junior Honor Society participated in a campus clean-up Saturday January 10th. TMS thanks you for your great work!
Mr. Wieland, one of our amazing 7th grade math teachers, hosted the Math Hunger Games, an event that encouraged students to challenge themselves and show off their math abilities. The Games started with the math class reaping, participants had to complete difficult math problems each week, and students with the most correct answers moved on to the next week's challenge. The twelve week challenge ended with a team wide ceremony to announce the winner. Thank you, Mr. Wieland, for making math so exciting!!

Mrs. Swiffen's classes participated in the Hour of Code this week, joining millions of people all over the world in learning the basics of computer programming.
Mr. Newton has won the teacher of the week sponsored by FSI! He is now eligible for teacher of the year. He will be honored Sunday, 12/14 at the Panthers game in Charlotte. Congratulations for this accomplishment. It is well deserved.
